This year, 610 students registered for the local Chemistry Olympiad exam on March 13-14, 2024, representing 25 schools. Of these, 12 students were selected to participate in the National Exam on April 20 at Cal State Dominguez Hills.
Below are the results for the local section High School Chemistry Olympiad Exam. We are proud to announce that TWO students from the National Team won the High Honors List and FOUR made it to the Honors List. And, our two High Honors students have been accepted to participate in the Chemistry Olympiad Study Camp! They will be among the 20 nationwide finalists selected to undergo rigorous training at the University of Maryland College Park, Maryland on June 2-15, 2024. Based on their performance, FOUR students will be chosen to represent the U.S. at the 56th International Chemistry Olympiad, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from July 21-30, 2024. Congratulations to all the students! Their accomplishments were applauded and commended at the 2024 High School Olympiad Awards Ceremony, held on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Mount Saint Mary’s University.
