We are proud to present the 2023 Agnes Ann Green Distinguished Service Award to our Southern California Section Executive Committee Member and Alternate Councilor, Dr. Krishna Kallury, Ph.D. Congratulations, Dr. Kallury for all your hard work in securing multiple grants that enabled us to host many beneficial activities that engaged our STEM community!
In addition, Dr. Kallury tirelessly continues to host and create activities for our members and our community. Among some notable events are:
• The 2023 International High School Research Symposium
Over 30 local and international high school students participated in this virtual research symposium in association with Lumiere Education, an organization founded by Harvard and Oxford PhDs that provides high school students around the world access to research opportunities.
• The ACS-DEIR African Heritage Summit
This is a hybrid and in-person event (at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria) sponsored by a collaborative grant with NYACS, Nigeria ACS, SCALACS.
• Annual Chemists Celebrate Earth Week Virtual Seminars
In conjunction with Earth Day every year, Dr. Kallury invites notable scientists, educators, and chemistry professionals to present at our CCEW Virtual Seminars.
• Los Angeles County Office of Education Events
Dr. Kallury organized SCALACS community outreach through our participation in events sponsored or hosted by the Los Angeles County Office of Education such as Engaging Girls in STEM.

Educational Awards Ceremony on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Mount Saint Mary’s University.
